Daniel Carr told me that he had problems initially trying to keep he overstrike half dollars from not becoming slightly larger when he overstruck them. I first noted the 1975s were having a problem fitting in my Air Tite capsules or 2X2s properly.

Another of my favorites:

1970_Ike_framed_REV.jpg
Its 40% silver. The first Ike dollar design seen by the public was dated 1970 though none were ever made for that year.

I don't know anything about these but I want them. What are they asking?

Earle, was this a typo? You are an expert so that is why I am asking. The mint made 1921 P,D,S Morgans in 1921. Were you talking of a mint replica? or perhaps a CC or O mintmark Morgan? or perhaps a 1921 D or S Peace dollar?

Hey thanks for pointing out my typo :)

The big news in 2012 was the mint found some 1964 Morgan dies in the storage vault. So Daniel made some 1964-D Morgan dollar overstirkes:

You are correct. The mint never made any, but they did make the dies. This is why Daniel Carr could make overstrikes of them and its not counterfeiting. In hand they look perfect. And since they are made by overstamping a legit Morgan, plus made using a Denver press he bought/refurbished, its as authentic as it can be without having ben an actual US mint issued coin.

The mint did make some 250,000 Peace dollars in 1964, but destroyed all and none have been found. I think it was PCGS offering a huge reward for any that would surface. So Daniel Carr made 1964-D Peace dollar overstrikes as well. Again, his are just like a mint product for quality.
