1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). Re: Us lincoln penny 1981-D look like close AM
hi . im no expert . but i understand the close/far AM . but i have seen 1992 d coins that have passed as close AM, i also no that the FG should be further away from the Memorial building for it to be a close AM. but if you have to go back and look at all of those close AM coins you will notice that , from my point of view its really not a close AM. its just extra thick lettering or some doubling of some sort. like i said , im no expert. now i have found a 1971 d that looks close . and i think leaving the 92s that were struck with the 93 die that are rare. a close so called AM is what it is. if it looks close than normal then it should pass as close AM. but it cant be so because the coin grading companies say so ? to me its just unfair.
i have found a few coins that are odd. and have like for example i found a few in the 1986 coins which seem to me like a MOLE . which i have posted . but these have no recognition , as it is not listed. so until the grading companies list this as a variety. its absolutely nothing .
thats just my taught guys i will be posting my 1971 d . have a look . thanks guys

Just die deterioration, look for WAMS and CAMS on the dates listed with these reverses, don't look for other dates because you're getting confused.
