Hum... I can say this it cost up to $70 to send one error coins in to PCGS and the other two are not much further behind that. So if they're sending in those tiny errors then they're paying more for grading than they are for the coin's potential value. I did a video on this subject https://youtu.be/...

I don't use any of that myself. I have a 17x hand magnifier and see all I need to see on a coin.

If PCGS or NGC doesn't have it listed then they will not label it, so the difference between these two sites is moot based on that. Not all experts agree on everything.

I agree with Daniel but will add that ANACS will attribute coins based on the variety attribution you list on the request form. And there are other controversial varieties that have been demoted on one site but remain on another or is only listed on one site. 1956 D/S comes to mind. Coopercoins has ...

The coin is not a proof must has an S mint mark to be a proof for this year and I don't see a DD and no mint mark anywhere else. This is a spendable, business strike cent.

It's important to keep in mind that dates such as 1982 (which have a variety of planchet compositions) can have the information jumbled up on the TPG's websites....... as with many other coins and their inaccuracies.

Matte finish coins started in 2005 so coins before that in mint sets are business strike and the TPGS know which are matte and which are not. Sounds like a miscommunication thing.

Anywhoo, I am going through all of this, just that you can learn from using the proper attribution tools.... :eureka: Keep in mind that a "Broadstrike" is considered a 'out of collar' hit, & will not show any edge reeding. hugeeyes here are 2 images of an intact reeded collars.

The best thing you can do at this point and stop looking at damaged coins, damage causes all types of issues on coins. Damaged coins are not worth much when there's not rare doubled dies or varieties for that date and mint and minor anomalies are not worth pursuing. I HOPE EVERYONE READS YOUR RESPO...
