Go to VAMWorld, look up morgan dollars, look up the date and mint, and compare and try to match your coin to the vams already known for that date.

Is there a reason for you to suspect that your specific coin is a fake?
It could get quite costly if you get every coin bought (re)authenticated?
Personally, I would be wary of any coins coming out of China. That would cover about 90% of your fakes.

The current penny planchet is a thin layer of copper (foil) over a zinc disk.
The thin copper layer has been stripped off in areas and the zinc inside is exposed and has oxidized.
