Welcome to the forum. We are glad you are here :D

Since yours has no chainmail but has stars, it is not a legit coin.

Legit Type I has no chainmail and no stars

Legit Type II has chainmail and stars.

Re: 50 groszy 2010, anomaly next to the rim

As requested, here is another photo; I tried to make the lighting as uniform as I could - though feel free to give me advice on what I can do better! The differences in the rest of the rim (discussed in the messages above) are just shadows, I don't see any anomalies on this coin aside from the 12 o...

Silver proofs were made for this year but they would have an S mintmark, wouldn't they? Correct. This looks like another one of the plated examples we see posted here from time to time. The weight is within specs. Some companies did this with the state quarters (sometimes gold plating even) and sol...

Try lighting it uniformly and posting more pictures. The shadows are making it hard to see. I went back and looked at the first picture you posted and admit the area looks different to me in that first picture than it does in the closeup.

I agree with the idea of using something verifiable for grading. And basing the system upon already graded coins therefore includes the human opinion. With the pics provided, it looks like post mint damage we see here often on US coins caused by the circular mark left when a coin roll crimping machine is used ("Ring of Death").
