What I do: For any coin I have with luster, it goes into a 2X2 or a coin capsule. These are the best ways to not lose luster. I then also store them with a silica gel pack. I do not let cardboard of any kind, this includes folders and coin albums (even Dansco albums which will tone coins over time),...

I agree. THings like this are just not worth the time and effort. They are common, random, and hold no value to the legitimate coin hobby. eBay shysters try to hype them up hoping to sucker people out of their cash.

It's obviously been struck twice so the doubling is causing it to look like a large date. Sorry this is not double struck. The pictures are too fuzzy to tell for sure, but it looks like the date took a hit in circulation or, as Daniel said, strike doubling. A double struck coin looks a lot differen...

I went to task first by removing all of the slides. Two are missing! Yay! It just keeps getting better. Luckily, I have extra. They get a good soapy bath and a good drying with a blower, my air mattress inflator. BE CAREFUL with a hair dryer. The slides melt and warp easily with the slightest heat!...

People make the mistake of thinking all odd looking coins are collectable coins sought by the coin hobby. A person wanting to find something the hobby is interested in has to know how error coins are made by knowing the minting process and the die making process. Otherwise expect to get fooled time ...
