Please Read Before Posting A Topic

In the title please put date, denomination and type of coin design and a brief on what you are asking about.
In example: "1995 Lincoln Cent Missing 5" or "2010 Roosevelt Dime With a Line inside the rim".

All of this helps discern the different topics from each other and is much less confusing to members who want to help.
Topic titles like "how did this happen" or "help" often get ignored and lost in the confusion.

Also if you're having trouble posting an image then here's our guide for that. How To Post Images

Jamestown...close to where I am from. One of my Dad's Uncles was in Miss McGilligudy's class!

Anyway...
I agree with most modern designs being bad, but would not be a Kennedy half specialist if I disliked that design. I do like the Eagle, especially, on the REV.

As to the Ike's, sorry, I cannot agree with you on that one either. No. President Eisenhower is no Walking Liberty to look at, but the Eagle landing on the moon, to me, is a great design. Patriotism and pride at being a true American and what we really stand for, I am sure, is a part of that as well as what I consider aesthetics. Again - its sure not a Weinman eagle design, but I do like this work of Frank Gasparro's with its almost hidden re-entry spacecraft and golfer as well.

And again, maybe its also that these two presidents, despite being different political parties, were men who actually cared about America's people.

If I had to any other post '47 coins as being not so bad, I do like the Liberty Bell on the Franklin REV. I am about 80% on the '76 drummer quarter REV, and I like the 2005 buffalo nickel (REV only!). And although I actually do like how the modern Lincoln cent REV reminds me of more classical coin designs of the good old days, I did like how the Memorial cents had President Lincoln on both sides.

The rest of the stuff...I agree. I especially agree about terrible new commemorative designs where they throw actual history out the window to make politically "correct" issues be on our coins. Very sad.

There may be some quarter REVs I would like, but after "special design" turned into a common event by issuing a new quarter REV every time the mint director sneezed, I don't even look at or care to search through the state quarters, parks, territories, inventions, vegetable gardens, biggest potholes, ad nauseum "program coins" etc..

Technicly I have a near completed type set including gold (is a couple double eagles holding me back lol) but to be honest the raw set are mostly lower grade. I recently decided to attempt an AU/MS type set with the only gold included being my 2 $2.5s. With the exception of 1 coin (the liberty head $2.5 is in an old anacs holder so doesn't "count" at ngc) what i've put together so far can be seen here... Ranked 244th and only 1/2 done (sorry some pics missing still but they all the moderns all the good stuff has pics already lol... admitedly a few of the coins are just placeholders (examples i had on hand already graded ie the 35s Merc dime) https://www.ngccoin.com/registry/compet ... ts/305589/
You may soar with the eagles, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines

Very nice! I enjoyed looking through it. Understandable about the double eagles. The price of gold what it is I don;t think those will ever be something I own either. I should have got them at 50.00 each back in the 70s.
