Hello there, US coins and tokens are not something I usually handle, and have very little experience with anything like this
I have this US token that shows some red colouring in the copper and i've not seen the like before on a item of this period, would this affect the grading and/or general value?
Hopefully the image of sufficient clarity for you to see.
Many Thanks
Al

Hello and Welcome Al, names Sal . Nice coin by the way . I wouldn't fool with it . Appears someone already cleaned the dated side . In my opinion all you can do now is protect it from the elements.

Just to reaffirm, the colour is very much part of the metal and not a surface issue, if its been cleaned, it had been in antiquity.

All you can do is look for like examples that have sold online like ebay or take it to a dealer that specializes in these.

A very popular US colonial coin. It would not surprise me to learn that this is one of the favorites that is rather often reproduced for souvenir replicas. Anyone have any experience?
