1853 dime - to arrow, or not to arrow. That is the question

#1 Unread post by Matthudson »

What stealth trickery is afoot here!

Did they scrape the arrows off this dime to make it more valuable? What cunning counterfeit! Undetectable!

I am perfectly fooled.

(apologies if this breaks the one-coin per topic rule)

Likely Arrows, 1853 was a Transitional Year with Arrows indicating the change of weight of the Dimes, someone tried to take out the Arrows to make it more valuable, but the damage gave that away

Are you sure they wasn't trying to nic-a-date the arrows to make sure they're not there? LOL!
