Sup Guys I haven't check on my coins in a wile but a friend ask me if I could ask someone about his coin ... anything you guys know about this type of coins would be appreciated he has like 5 of them that were going to get trash but he saved ... is it silver ? And what is that plastic cover on it you can see it on the rim picture 🤔 thanks Guys .

Looks plated and not Silver having been minted in PA .

The coin is plated, you should weigh coins that are off color and if they weigh within specifications then you know what alloy it is.

A lot of coins were plated with (so little it brings no value) silver and/or gold in an attempt to make a (gimmicky) set of coins to sell for inflated prices. Places like the HSN excel at making up sets like this.

Spend them at least - don't trash them :)
