1853 Three Cent Silver Is It Cleaned?
I bought this coin and I am wondering if it's cleaned. The coin is graded UNC details by PCGS, but I don't know if I agree.

May have found cleaning marks when grading the coin?

Daniel what's up. One of the things I have seen with some overly dipped coins is that purple/blue mottling. I am probably mistaken because I have not seen as many coins as others, but to me it seems to be pretty consistent. Also the surfaces seem very uneven as far as color, tint and reflectivity.
Here is a pic.

Re: 1853 Three Cent Silver Is It Cleaned?
D, from my experience...... coins do not even need to show
"Microfine Whisper Hairlines" to be returned as "Cleaned". I have quite a few higher grade MS coins, that have/and show tiny amounts of surface contaminant in the device crevices.
The tip off for me, are coins that predate 1950 with absolutely no surface gunk at all.
With the rate at which people are dipping/soaking/& removing all surface contaminants, to make their coins look prettier (because people are telling them to do so, and telling them how to do it), it won't be long before there's absolutely none left that are considered "ORIGINAL"

Hey P, "BLAST WHITE" yup the 'ol "SIGHT WHITE CERTIFIED", the whiter the better. The interesting thing about coins is that the original state, not including paint, chewing gum or boogers, just the buildup over the years actually enhances the details of the coin. But people are willfully ignorant, it's like finding an original Johannes Moll and stripping the finish off of the barrel to "Blue" it, yup really dumb. https://www.vonaschwegeflintlocks.com/john-moll.html

Ooops. I created this while I was doing a better video on posting here. I completely made this up just to do the video. I don't disagree with the UNC details here but thanks for everyone's help!!

Re: 1853 Three Cent Silver Is It Cleaned?
This is probably a tick question, lol. Yes, it looks clean to me, but I want to know why I see part of the start on top of the reverse? I can never remember what that is called. Is it double strike? or Stike through? I'll go look it up. Am I the only one that sees it?

Thanks everyone but remember this post wasn’t a real question, but glad someone learned from it.
