Someone I heard of named Billy has said a black spot can be downright dangerous.

My Trade dollar. I admit I am not sure if this is my oldest slabbed one. It might seem funny for me to say that, but I forgot it was slabbed until I saw the pics again (I was suspecting). Its in a safe deposit at present with other things now and I don't even know whether its a PCGS or NGC slab...just that its one of the two.

Not a bad looking Trade Dollar! I have one in my 7070.

What do you think of Trade Dollars with Chop Marks? I know it has an interesting history. I never really wanted one. I always thought (in my mind anyway) that chop marks on the coin was damage or details. But I think the TPG'ers straight grade them.

I'm in the same boat when it comes to "I am not sure if this is my oldest slabbed one". I'll be looking through some threads and see a coin and say to myself: Hey, I have one of those somewhere. The problem is, I can't find it!! 😂🤣😩

Thanks! Like you I don't like the chop marks. Although I think they are a neat piece of history, yet technically are damage. I don't presently want one though.
...I'm in the same boat when it comes to "I am not sure if this is my oldest slabbed one"....

Truth be told, and some will think me crazy, but I have delved too deeply into researching the slabbing companies and uncovered enough (being nice) "gray areas" in their system and business practice that a slab means less than zero importance or value of opinion to me. Less than zero? Yes, b/c it means one of these days I have to go through the annoyance of breaking the plastic to unite the coins with their (safer storage than slab) capsules and then put them into position in the sets.

So I honestly am not even aware of everything I might have in slabs or not (not talking large numbers). I suspected my Trade dollar was slabbed, but had to look at the picture and see the plastic tabs to verify for my memory that it is slabbed. I know who I got it from (off of CCF forum), and even what I paid. But had literally forgotten if it was in a slab!
