1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). Our community is not a soap box for complaining or drama, so please refrain from doing so here.[/size]

Re: 1943 S Nickel
It is a war nickel, it is made out of 35% silver, it just has a odd toning. Nothing special here, worth about $1.

Just a normal war nickel altered color from circulation.

I agree, it is toned. You got to weigh coins you think are off metal. We can't test them or weigh them using images.

Re: 1943 S Nickel
Hey N, I have a suggestion for you photos, use a black background, the contrast helps in the details of the coin.
So to add on to what JTCC said, as to your nickel, remember that the "War Nickel" metal alloys where a different alloy. Because of the war, Nickel was a restricted commodity. So instead 25% nickel and 75% copper, pre war components, the war Nickle had no "Nickel", (what do you mean my nickel has no nickel) it's composition was 56% copper, 35% silver, and 9% manganese, so the war nickel is far more reactive to environmental damage than the regular nickel. So weigh it, and see what that shows.
I think it is just environmental damage, remember back in the day we used pennies, nickels, and quarters as a solder patch to repair holes in gas tanks and car radiators.

Don't tell me, spray paint, overspray shadow.
OP I recommend House Of Color Shimrin 2, and an IWATA 5905 WS400 Super Nova 1.3, (I'm partial to Iwata)
