2020 W Silver Eagle
Wow, this is very mirror like. How do I display it? Slab, round or flip? Any suggestions?

Re: 2020 W Silver Eagle
I agree - bad fake. Find a picture online of a verified silver eagle. Compare the fine details of your coin to the same fine details on the actual silver eagle to see the differences. These silver eagles are commonly faked.

Re: 2020 W Silver Eagle
All you have to do is compare to an authentic one or image. I bet you got a great deal on it too, that should have been your first clue there was something amiss.

Re: 2020 W Silver Eagle
Seriously? I don't want to be rude or brow beat someone but how in the world do you think you're going to get a coin for less than melt like that? You got to be thinking better than that. I've done video after video on this junk. Then you ask me how I know it's fake? Man, I don't know what to tell you but buy from reputable dealers and stop looking for the deal of a lifetime coins.

Re: 2020 W Silver Eagle
Here's an authentic version, save it to your computer and compare. Also remember these website often use images of authentic coins, but that is NOT what you're getting.

Go to Daniels coinshop website:Daniel do you have any real eagles???

If you got to keep the fake one - put it in a 2X2 and mark as a fake for a reference piece. Compare the real one side by side and you likely will be able to spot fakes like this from now on.

Unfortunaelty there is so much of this going on today, and people can get all they want online at the right(wrong) places, that not much is done.Mlcharlestonsc wrote: ↑Tue Dec 14, 2021 2:25 am Maybe need reported to secret service for counterfeit sales. However, if you ever do see an eBay seller, the owner of coincommunityforum.com has a close relationship to the eBay coin "area/officials." He can normally get things cancelled very quickly. Go there and search for report eBay or something like that. Its been awhile for me so I don't remember the specifics. I think he had one whole forum set up for it at one time (the forum father's name is Bobby over there).

Re: 2020 W Silver Eagle
When I called PGCS, they were very thankful. I gave them all the information. While I was I the phone them (I already had the page up), they ask me specific questions about what I saw. I Told them about the six (6) slabs I could see in which the first four (4) numbers were all zeros' (0's). As for the grades, they were all MS70. The kicker is that they had the nerve to post on their index page-(For the benefit those that don't know what an index page is).
An index is a file named as index.htm, index.html, index.asp, or index.php. The index file is the first file loaded when accessing a directory on a website.
They put on their Index (home page) they were a PCSG Authorized Dealer really got them stirred up. Any way to make a long story short. They asked if I was a PCGS member. I told the yes. They looked up my account. Supposably because I was the first one to contact them, I got four (4) vouchers

There is a forum out there that has as its motto "Education is the key to collector success". Perhaps that the motto for this forum should be "Knowledge is power. Be a powerful collector!".

Re: 2020 W Silver Eagle
CCF is the forum I chose (out of many online) many years ago when I started to get back seriously into the hobby and had to update my knowledge of what had happened in my years of absence. There are some very knowledgeable people there who I respect from 11 years of being there daily. What I like is they have a lot of the same standards as here (also why I was very happy to find Daniel's forum!).cammobunker wrote: ↑Mon Dec 20, 2021 6:03 pm There is a forum out there that has as its motto "Education is the key to collector success".
