Found coin

#1 Unread post by Taylor6850 »

Found this coin in the ground. On the front it says Pierre Gaultier de La Verendrye. Date on front 1731-1743. On the back it says, with his four sons explored western plains. In English and what I assume is Spanish underneath it.

Hi Taylor...Welcome.
It appears to be a commemorative medal/token for the French Canadian explorer Pierre Gaultier de Varennes, sieur de de La Verendrye. On the reverse, it is French below English. It also appears to be severely environmentally damaged...In my opinion, put it in a 2X2 and keep it as a story piece.
