1956 p wheat collection

#1 Unread post by shoell1 »

I have a full roll from 1956 p. I have found some with die chips on the reverse. The same die markings and same location of die chips.
My question is is it better to separate them or keep them together? As would it be worth more to keep things together showing the same markings?

Since they are such minor chips, there really is no added value anyway. So whatever you decide to do will not really matter from a value standpoint. I think its an interesting point to know you have "die twins/triplets//quadruplets/etc." as proven by the same marks.

Keep in mind the value of what's called "Die Progression" with respect to die deterioration.
Your tiny die chips do not relate to the subject but I thought it was pertinent to let you know.

For example:
Say that you opened a roll of coins, & you find a large die crack upon a coin,… as you "Progress" through the coins in the role, you come across a "Shattered Die" strike. Upon inspecting them, you can see the increasing size of the cracks in the die, leading to the shattered die hit.......... now you would want to keep these altogether as a "Progression".
