1968 D Kennedy could this be a PL coin?

#1 Unread post by Eddie cioffi »

There is something different about this coin,
It looks like a SMS coin.
Does anyone know why this 1968 d looks different?

Here is a PCGS article on Proof and Proof-like coins:
https://www.pcgs.com/news/differences-b ... like-coins
It indicates that proof-like coins result from brilliant planchets struck from newly polished dies.

Keep in mind that the terminology such as PL = "Prooflike", should be considered a "Descriptor".....
For example ... the word "Slider"
