Long Ago Find
It has been a wile now, 6+ years. It accrued when I had to put my German Shepard down due to cancer. To help me get over the grief of losing her, I went out metal detecting. To this day I can not explain why I found this object. I was doing one last trip from field to my car. I didn't really find any thing, but few pull tabs. About halfway back to the car I got a hit. At first I wasn't going to dig it thinking it was another pull tab, but curiosity got the better of me so I dug it up. What I found acutely took my breath away. Sitting in my hand was a charm in the shape of fire hydrant with I love you inscribed on it. What are the chances of finding that object on that day.

Re: Long Ago Find
Great find and the shape of the charm was the perfect reminder from your German Shepard.
Re: Long Ago Find
:greatfind: Would love to see some photos, please post some here. Not far from my property for sale in Athens here there is a really nice beach where I go out metal detecting. It relaxes me a lot, prefer to do on weekends in the evening while there is still some light. So far only one earring was found.

Re: Long Ago Find
Sorry every one. I didn't realize it had been as long as it was on posting this. But yes I have a couple of photo's. Also I got the inscription wrong it was, "Most loved dog".

Re: Long Ago Find
That looks like a nice vintage tag.
Great image and a great way to remember your pet.

Re: Long Ago Find
What an incredible coincidence. This is the first time I've heard of metal detecting stories like this. Your story about your dog makes this an interesting find.
