Please help ID this coin

#1 Unread post by Metal_kettle »

I dug this coin yesterday it is the same size as a nickel i think its bronze. It has very little detail to it. I keep looking through a magifying glass to see a date of 176? there is some design left on it. I would be greatfull for any ideas to what it might be, Thank you

Michael

Impressive Metal Detecting find for sure! But it would been more crazier if it had good details

Likely made from Copper, Large Copper coins were very common from the 1600s to the 1800s . . .

Thank you. This coin is the size of a US nickel, The early King George Coppers even worn ones are much bigger compareing to this coin.
