PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). I'm sure this is just post mint damage but can someone explain the reasoning for it. Seems to be done with a purpose.

Artwork? Person bored in the shop? OCD person made one clip and had to complete the others? Impossible to know why people do what they do.

Sometimes old coppers can be found with a deliberately made gear-looking edge and a hole in the middle. Some internet references will say these were altered/used by bakers to make the edge markings on pie crusts.
