Ancient Roman denarius of Hadrian

#1 Unread post by Gam3rBlake »

I managed to pick up this beautiful denarius of Emperor Hadrian last week and at a good price too. :)

The writing around the edge of the obverse says:

“IMP CAESAR TRAIAN HADRIANUS AUG”

I love the toning on it! Especially the reverse.

Hopefully I can pick up denarii of Trajan, Marcus Aurelius and Antoninus Pius next!

P.S. Idk why it posted the second photo sideways but if you click it it should show up correctly oriented.

Yup..we all hate it.

So for .50 I will take it off of your hands so you never have to look at it again 😜

Admittedly I can VERY much appreciate a piece of history like this. I just do not know enough about ancient coins and collecting them to know its anything more than an ancient Roman coin (and...wall...oops...typo...well...I do know who Hadrian was).

If you keep it up I might start on them one of these days start myself. They have always intrigued me, but I am focusing on other areas at present like finishing my Walkers.

Do it! Nothing says you can't collect two things at once.

I collect US, Ancient Greek & Ancient Roman.

Or you could try and finish your Walker set and then move on to it.

So many options. ^_^

Well...writing a 2nd (possibly splitting it into two) reference book in the glass insulator hobby, working/building/organizing my wood shop, restoring/learning/starting to play with my metal lathe (in the process of getting a milling machine), and finally finding a way to get a source of primers for reloading ammo kind of gets in the way at times 😊
