1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). Re: Dollar bill from same stack, weird markings
Too much magnification reveals things our eyes typically miss, but anomalies that are commonplace b/c the printing process does not make perfect bills on the microscopic level. Anything magnified too much shows flaws.

Re: Dollar bill from same stack, weird markings
Keep looking and you will find these types of things on paper money. Its all normal. Some is post printing such as the black circular looking mark in your last picture. Bills get all sorts of small stains, marks etc. from circulation.
Just about any circulated bill can be found to have anomalies like these on them.
If you go to eBay SOLD auctions, you will not find many, if any, examples of things like this like these being sold for any value b/c people who collect currency know what is actually a collectable error that came out of the Bureau of Printing and Engraving (the "BEP" - where bills are made), what are simply circulation issues such as stains/marks, and how common tiny imperfections in the printing process are.
Like I said, please go ahead and keep looking as you have been. Soon you will also come to the conclusion what you are seeing is not unusual/rare/valuable.

Re: Dollar bill from same stack, weird markings
Realization has set in. Do you know of a source that just gets to the point of what to look for on a bill error wise or value wise. I know if there are 6-8 of the same numbers and then folds in the bill. Plus star notes. Ya'no I started out doing pennies to occupy my mind and then the whole thing just went crazy. I literally have thousands of coins, if not tens of thousands, strewn around without any semblance of organization. Time to regroup. I have lost the battle but not the war.

Re: Dollar bill from same stack, weird markings
Someone on here may know of a good one, but I am not a currency collector. I suggest using a search engine.

I am not a currency collector either, but here are a few sites I have used to better understand currency and their value to help out some friends:
https://papermoneyguide.com/currency_errors.html
https://www.thepennyhoarder.com/make-mo ... orth-more/
https://www.mycurrencycollection.com/re ... er-checker
https://www.uscurrency.gov/denomination ... dentifiers
https://www.bep.gov/resources/serialnumbers.html
Read all you can to educate yourself, these sites will surely keep your mind occupied some more. Best of luck!
