1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). Our community is not a soap box for complaining or drama, so please refrain from doing so here.[/size]

Before Mailing My Coins I'm curious
Hello, can anyone with experience with mailing their coins tell me if they've ever gotten the WRONG coins back from grading companies? Or has anyone known any credible persons who have had this happen to them? I wanted to go to a coin show but they don't grade errors on site and due to covid do not accept drop offs.

If you are reluctant or fearful to send off your coins with the worry that you will receive the wrong ones back....
:eureka:
I recommend that you image the coins,......... making sure that you take some sort of 'close-up' of what I call a "COIN MARKER"...... this will be some type of tick mark, stain, toning, etc. on the coins surface. Then when you receive them back, you will be sure that they were yours.

Re: Before Mailing My Coins I'm curious
I will try that. I don't have very fancy cameras for getting great images at present. Decent, far from the worst in the world. I have some very high grade errors that look absent of such markers, or at least I'm not aware of them. May I ask, as I'm from Wisconsin if I might be able to have you look at some of my coins should I feel the need? If so, what part of the state about do you reside?
In these times, with the rioting and potentially more shut downs I trust mailing services less at present.

Thanks,
I look forward to and hope I get a chance to see your coins.
I live in Berlin.
Funny thing, the Post Office is actually one of the more reliable services still running right now.
I have been sending coins through the Post Office my entire career. Not once ever, has a coin gone missing or not been delivered, at least for me..........
