Hello gang - Funkmeister back from another crazy hunt!
I got this coin today off eBay - got what I thought was a good price for a 1936S NGC GRADED!!! Walking Liberty Half
Then I flipped it over and it was actually a 1936D instead! (slight drop in the price by the way)
The grading companies strike again!
I know I can send this back to NGC and have them fix it - and I know it really doesn't add much value - but here we go again...
Also found it interesting that the original seller did NOT include a picture of the reverse! (probably why he sold it to me for such a low price)!
Back to the hunt - what a strange business!
Michael - The Funkmeister!
Nice NGC Graded 1936 S - I mean Ooops - 1936 D? Half

1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.

6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. I've never seen this mistake before . . . They may have looked at it wrong somehow . . .

I agree with Paul. Not too hard to find when you start looking for it.
I don't think I would want 8 hours days weekly of looking at small details on coins like this. They HAVE to get periods where their minds wander ...case in point. They may have looked at it wrong somehow . . .
Common grading company shortcomings & resulting co$tly mi$take$ to collectors (using Kennedy No FG halves):
