I bought a ICG slab coin for the first time. When buying slab coins its been PCGS or NGC for me. In this case i looked at the coin not so much the slab and decide hey looks pretty good. i attached a couple pics to hear what you all think of the grade to coin.
Thanks

Re: ICG graded coins
It's not 100% accurate when grading from Pics but In the enlarged photo's ( enlarged when clicked on) but I assume it got that grade because of the distracting "dings and dents" on the Obverse ( face mostly) and small dings on the reverse ( wing tips) . Overall, I think they got the coin graded accurately .

Read the essay in my signature for a real eye opener on the actual expertise of the grading companies using their own links. words, pictures, and examples.
Common grading company shortcomings & resulting co$tly mi$take$ to collectors (using Kennedy No FG halves):

Re: ICG graded coins
I think ICG tends to be the most accurate of the grading companies, however the fact that they are the bottom competitor of the big 4 with the least if any "added value" for being slabbed.. blazes I even know one of their graders, but generaly I stick to PCGS and NGC slabs for the extra resale value they have.. In the end, buy the coin, NOT the plastic and you will always be happy with your collection :D
Re: ICG graded coins
I have no problem with the slab or the coin. Although, I'm sure some of the major players in this hobby probably won't look twice at it. I'm not a major play.
