Hello. What do you think, we know the Lincoln cent variant of the 1949 S with the smaller mint mark and shifted to the right (coin B). Coin A is regular. is it a variant of minting or a simple detail?
greetings from Rome

Mint mark placement varies and this is very common and normal.

I agree. Since mint marks back then were punched into the die by hand, the mint mark locations can very considerably for some dates. At present I do not now of any market for people looking to find one of each known position of mint mark on any one coin.
