Minor surface anomaly

#1 Unread post by TomekD »

There's this spot in front of Kennedy's face that is reflecting light in a manner different to the rest of the surface (the closest match would be a proof coin). It doesn't seem to be damage. What could it be? I know it doesn't add any value, I just want to learn something ;)

Looks like is got stuck in something mechanical and this area was damaged, commonly called a wheel mark and post mint. Has nothing to do with proof anything.

Looks like some type of circulation damage. Your guess is as good as ours. It's worth more then 50¢, which is a good thing. 👍🏻
