2005 Lincoln Cent DDO? Not listed.

#1 Unread post by excoin »

I have been misstaken so many times. I wondered if this 2005 obverse has a DD
in LIBERTY. Because I could not find listed predecessor-examples, COINHELP is my
only option.
Even when it isn't a error/variety, what to do if you find a coin that is not in the listings?

Thanx, from EVA

This is a serious answer - not sarcasm and being helpful :)

1. Assume it is NOT an error, but some sort of mint anomaly such as mechanical doubling.

2. Search CONECAonline.org, error-ref.com, and varietyvista.com to see if you overlooked it.

3. Study the appearance of the actual, verified errors on those sites as well as the descriptions of mechanical doubling, dies deterioration etc. to see which one yours fits.

4. If no matches, then you may be one of the very, very few people who has found something new...it does happen, but mostly on the most recent coins minted.
