Hey guys, here is the last coin that was in a scrap silver coin listing that I purchased andirons is currently being shipped to me but I couldn’t wait to get y’all’s opinion! So this one has a deformed shape and has some kind of material or pattern overlaid on the left side of the obverse of the coin. What are your thoughts as far as what it is, how it happened and is it worth getting graded? Or are you thinking something like “No idiot! this coin was obviously dropped from the Statue of Liberty then picked up by a welder who drew a picture on it! How could you not know that! Amateur” Anyways whatever your thoughts are, they are appreciated!
P.S.- apparently I posted the first coin that was in this gripe in the coin questions category not the coin errors category. Check it out if you have a minute!
2/2 Standing Liberty quarter shape deformed and has some kind of overlay… Double strike? Damage?

That’s so crazy! Do you think it was doctored? Same question for all 3 I guess… Hey, thanks for the info!

I am not sure what you mean by this. But if you mean was the damage deliberate? Its impossible to tell.Do you think it was doctored?
Yes, a lot of coins have met up with Little Johnny out in the garage with Daddy's tools making "art work." But some coins also just be mangled by machinery and who knows what else?
If you can think of a way to use tools to make a coin look weird, then someone beat you (and the coin) to it
