Lamination error?

#1 Unread post by Coinaddict411 »

This looks like it could be a lamination error or is it just a burst bubble?

As for it being a lamination error, the Lincoln cent is copper plated zinc (some in 1982 and after) before that the were Copper (bronze). So no lamination error. As for strike through. I will let someone with more knowledge answer it.

I'm not sure how you are imaging this....
But it does not look like any "Lamination" error that I have seen, or any "Plating Blister" I know of

With the illumination coming from the South/Southwest, wouldn't that make this "Raised" off the surface?

It's a depression into the surface...probably just under a 1/16 deep....this pic probably doesnt help much but the lighting is coming straight down on it from the scope with the penny turned on its side.
