Re: Qusation bout Bicentennial quarters
What do you mean by out of use? The Bicentennial Quarters like all U.S coinage is still in use. The only type of money that is actually in use but not the same is the Silver Certificates. These are still considered Legal Tender, but you can no longer turn them in for Silver.stevesherrill wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 9:41 pm I just watched a video on Bicentennial quarters. Re: Qusation bout Bicentennial quarters
If a person put one of these Bicentennial quarters away back in 1976, because of devaluation of the dollar, they now have a nickel in todays money.
In other words the roll I put away back in 1976 has lost 40.00 purchasing value. I should have bought silver with it instead.

Re: Qusation bout Bicentennial quarters
With a mintage of 809,783,016 for the 1776-1976 Philadelphia (no mint mark) and for the Denver mint (D mint mark) a mintage of 860,118,839 I would more then likely keep some of the better coins. Remember they did not mint a 1975 or a 1976 Quarter and the mintage for the Bicentennial Quarter is the total for what would have been both years. You can go here to find out general information on the Philadelphia1776-1976 Clad Quarter and here to see the information on the Denver 1776-1976 Clad Quarter..
