1977 D Washington Quarter Error or Damage

#1 Unread post by RTSwisher »

The coins weight is 5.543g. First noted on the obverse the uneven surface at the top and rear of the head. On the reverse the right wing of the eagle also an uneven suface. Possibly because of the dark appearance of the coin...or wear, the raised surfaces seem to be flattened more so close to the rim. All comments are welcome.

After 54 years, this Coin has seen better days / it looks like some kind of damage . This did not happen at the Mint.

RTSwisher:
I recommend you study the following sites.
Error-Ref and
Wexler's Coins and Die Varieties
These two sites will help teach you about what a variety/ errors coin looks like. I cannot stress enough how important it is to not just read the sites but to study them in depth, until they are seared into your brain.
