Blank quarter planchet
Purportedly this planchet came from a mint roll. It weighs 5.71 grams and is the regular size of a quarter. It appears to bear coin roller marks.

Re: Blank quarter planchet
Contains the Clad middle, it's not reeded, but I do believe that this is a blank Quarter Planchet, also note the Ring of Death because it used to be a Ender for a coin roll

Re: Blank quarter planchet
I wasn't sure either, so I went to ebay and typed in "blank quarter planchet" and clicked the "sold" field so we can see what they actually sold for (versus listed for).
In that form, clad quarter planchets tend to sell for $3-10. If you sent it to PCGS to grade, it might sell for $30 or so. Seems like grading/confirming validity is a money loser (as it costs ~$30+ to ship/grade).
Enjoy,
Scott

I agree - always use eBay sold auctions for current market value.

Re: Blank quarter planchet
I thought the roll markings were different than the ones I've seen but I am to inexperienced to make that judgement. Thanx.

Re: Blank quarter planchet
Any guessed on the second rim shot? The lines seem defined, centers are raised?

Re: Blank quarter planchet
As Daniel said, a roll crimping machine damaged the surface. It gouged into the surface making some of the rest look raised.
