Kennedy 2000 P with ??? and Die Crack

#1 Unread post by ccbcs »

Hello,

I have 6, in similar condition, Kennedys, 2000 Ps with same errors on both the obverse and reverse of the coin. See the date and the upper right wing tip to rim.

Need help identifying the "mark" on the obverse, immediately to the southwest of the #2 and please confirm the die crack on the obverse. Thank you.

The REV is appears to be a die crack.

I was thinking the mark near the two could be a bit of a die clash, but the clash there would be part of a letter S and is not matching this mark (see overlay). Possibly a minor die gouge?
