Newbie but oldie here. not a richie. fo sho, lol! Due to 2020 pandemic and being in quarantine with a ADHD brain and you tube and life long interest, now im a $ collecting geek and love it. Just started not even a year in. just been focusing on penny's and quarters even though ill research anything. but figure over time and Lil bit of eye training, come across few finds and build from that. We'll I bout SH*t today. ill be posting soon. I've had a slabbed ms67 red P wheatie for who knows how long from who knows where. LOL! someone gave it to me or I got looking through friends rolls & change or the ol "i have sum coins, can ya take a look". collections. At the time i grabbed it cuz it was a 67 and red wheatie. today for sum reason i thought id take a closer look. and either my eye wasn't trained to see it for lack of knowledge at the time, but bright as day die crack through Lincoln's head. I guess last 6 months of penny picking paid off. lol! Ill be posting it asap. once get pictures. cuz still uncertain exactly what i have on my hands but it would be a great find to really start on collecting rest of my days....

Welcome to the forum! I wish you luck but alas a die crack isn't going to add value to your coin, some have nicknamed them "cracked skulls" but not anything too special in value or collector interest. You want to find the rare doubled dies, and repunched mint marks, and Close and Wide AMs.

Nicely trained eye. Maybe you'll find the big dollar coins before long. I don't seem to have the patience with my vision being like it is now. Used to be able to read and see everything on a dime without aid, now I need a good magnifying glass or even a loupe for the really small stuff. Good job.
