1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.

2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.

3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.

4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.

5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.

6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.

7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. Hello beautiful people!

#1 Unread post by Robin.Griffith »

Hi, my name is Robin Griffith. I am a newbie to actually looking at my coins versus just keeping the ones grandma gave me.

I think all the warnings to newbies about being careful what you say and what you do and what you think you see are great pieces of advice for me to hear. It's nice not to have that new enthusiasm stamped on, it's nice to have that new enthusiasm directed towards good education. Thank you, and thank you in advance.

I have found myself to be very intrigued by assorted novelty dings, brakes, blobs, bumps and imprints. Please don't gasp, I am quickly learning those aren't the correct terminologies to use when addressing others in the community about what I find (insert smile here)!

I look forward to all of the learning I know I'm going to experience, and I look forward to interacting with you in as a part of this community.

Robin

Hello and Welcome . You did fine . Just remember, it's "Break" NOT " "Brake" ( like on cars) . Also, Try not to use the words Imprint or Stamped . Coins are "struck" not stamped ( Stamps are stamped).
Thanks and enjoy your day. : )

I understand my roommate said I was in one position for about 2 hours with my head buried in the pennies so I can only imagine your time constraints thank you for the reminder.

Thank you so much. I'm trying to manage these communications from my cell phone at the moment. You'll have to forgive me, I use Voice to Text due to an arm injury and sometimes I forget to verbalize my pronunciation.

LOL!

From your signature I see maybe you can answer a question that came to me one day when pondering woodchucks:

How much squash would a sasquatch squash if a sasquatch would squash squash?

Sure...not copyrighted😊

...just came up with it one day. Now if I see it on T-shirts being sold...send me one LOL!

BTW - former survivalist camper...nothing taken into the woods with me (OK...I cheated...I would take a hatchet plus the clothes on my back).

I used to wonder how a dead deer got stuck 15 feet up in the fork of a tree (entrails gone) in an area where the ground was level, hence no way for the deer to have jumped off of something higher, lose its entrails in the process, and end up lodged in the tree fork. Oversized prints around the area of the tree (not bear or lion tracks - I am a tracker - and...no claw marks on the tree). Makes a person think...
