Double sided Lincoln Memorial penny

#1 Unread post by chandler.james1 »

I found a penny at work today that has both sides showing the Lincoln memorial, there is no mint mark/date to be found so I am wondering how would I figure out what it’s worth, and if it’s real, please help.

(And in the files attached, you’re just going to have to trust me that the penny on the left is flipped around in the second image)

image showing the edge of the coin in question please? and please do not post a comparison coin, since we know what a normal example would look like.

I don't know diddly but could you poss post a video of you flipping coin over to both sides? That's just a personal request, cause it looks amazing and would love to see it.

We can't verify a coin like this using images, the coin needs looked at in person, but I can tell you there's no real examples that exist and there's all kinds of after mint made examples out there. I have a couple myself. So please don't get your hopes up.

This is a magician's coin. Look up two headed coin on ebay. You can buy them there.

Where the lighting in the pic allows it, it looks like a seam goes around the perimeter. Its hard to see b/c of lighting, but I believe that seam actually is around the circumference.

These are made on a lathe. A cent is hollowed out to make a shell and another is machined to fit inside that shell. The seam shows where the inside piece is sitting inside the shell.
