2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. Re: Questionable E-Bay grading
Thanks for the tip! Just put my bid on it!
I get XF45 - $95.00 ; AU50 $110.00 wholesale. His asking price of $379.00 is... "euphoric".
Tough date. Candid pics - I'd have to see it in person to be sold on an AU grade (which is what he calls it in his more detailed than average description. Also appreciate that.) The spread is so narrow. I'd pay $100.00 for this semi key date, if I were in the market for one.
I understand that Denver cents in the early 20s tended to be rather weakly struck on the reverse and that the lack of definition might be only a secondary concern.

Re: Questionable E-Bay grading
Great night. Some people! Hopefully nobody buys at that price, kinda like those magic $35,000 coins we see online every day.

you can get one better than that overall for like 10 or 20 bucks if you are patient.

I didn't see it until now and didn't buy it sadly. I usually try to pay ten cents or so for such coins from my LCS Wheat bin.

Uncirculated? lol. They would argue it's a weak strike I bet.
You wont get these dates and mints for ten cents. The 22 D and 24 D are several dollars each not to mention the others are with a bit less but still better dates and mints. Unless you have a very generous local coin dealer.monsterbug1 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 1:34 am https://www.ebay.com/itm/314052802717?h ... 7675.l2557

Re: Questionable E-Bay grading
not normally, but my LCS doesn't care about better/semi key wheat cents. Ive found every semi key in the 10c bin at least twice during the last year or soDaniel wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 4:03 pm Uncirculated? lol. They would argue it's a weak strike I bet.

Re: Questionable E-Bay grading
I would love to see how he buys from the public then, cause these coins don't just come in lots and bags for nothing so he can sell them for 10 cents. I would hope he's paying customers more for better dates and mints.

Re: Questionable E-Bay grading
if the are obviously better they pay extra
if there are 500 rolls of wheat cents, they will glance through all of them but only with great haste trying to make sure they are all wheats and removing anything that is glaringly obvious(i.e. IHP, Unc teens cent, anything that really stands out)
I think they were paying a cent and a half per wheat for bulk lots, but that was a few months ago
speaking of about 500 rolls, those came into the shop yesterday and I'll be getting to look at the coins in a week or so, and if I time it right I will have first pick over everything
