Picked up a 1921 Peace Dollar: The final piece of my “21” set!

#1 Unread post by Gam3rBlake »

I have the 1921 Morgan Dollars with the D, S and no mint mark (P) in MS63.

I also have the full 2021 Morgan & Peace Dollar set all of which are MS70.

Today I finally won the last piece!
A 1921 Peace Dollar :).

Anyone notice the prices on these have skyrocketed?? Almost triple what they were just last year! O_O

Its just my opinion, but I think the mint making the 2021s has put a new hobby interest into these.

Thanks Daniel! Looks like a 61 to me but I got it at the 61 price so I’m ok with it if it’s not a true 62. 😆

Yeah that AND the fact the 100 year anniversary was last year.

In April 2021 the PCGS price guide for this coin in MS62 was $325.

In August 2021 it was $1,000. O_O

Crazy right? I have a feeling there aren’t as many surviving 1921s in Mint State as people believe. I think a lot of them got roughed up and/or melted down back in the 1980s when silver was $40/oz (in 1980 dollars).

To be clear I didn’t pay anywhere near PCGS price guide value. I paid a little over wholesale value.
