Woke up this morning to an order for an auction on eBay I had starting at $7.99. At the same time, I used the "Buy it Now" feature and set it at $16.00
BAM!! Success! SOLD!
Some people don't have the time, appetite, or disposition to monkey around with waiting for an auction to run its course. Never underestimate the power of instant gratification. Or, at least don't pass up the opportunity to use it!
Beautiful coin! I have seller's remorse - I want to keep it!
(I have another post about how I got 20 Indian Cents - mostly stinkers for $18.05 - maybe you read it? Yeah, this was one of the coins in that lot! I'm down to 19 stinkers for $3.89 after fees, shipping, and sales tax.)
P.S. So, what happens if your listing goes viral and you get a ton of bids that surpass your "BIN" price? Good question! The auction then takes precedence and the "Buy it Now" becomes irrelevant! I recently ended an auction early because the BIN was only $6.00 and the highest bid was already at $9.50. Highest bidder at that moment got it for $9.50; I mean, let's not go crazy here! Sometimes more than enough is enough!
Now, if you can tell me how to prevent people from New York from ordering my coins with their 8.875% sales tax , I'm all ears here!
(Bonus TIP: Buy on eBay; Sell private, be it coin clubs, shows, dealers. The selling fee on eBay at 12.9% is HIGH!)
Oh! And what I do: Don't forget to include your business card in the shipment, in case there are follow up "questions" down the road. I have a growing number of past buyers who direct their "questions" to me, because they like the way I treat them!
How to win eBay? Keep your coins gorgeous and your dealings honest! People love gorgeous coins offered by honest people. Be like Daniel, who is probably the most honest man I've ever met!

Its a different world than when I grew up. Honesty used to be a lot more common. Nowadays those who use it shine like never before. How to win eBay? Keep your coins gorgeous and your dealings honest! Hey! Even minks are technically weasels. It's all in the presentation - like a fine wine, or a meal prepared by a top chef. Or that surprise coin you get in the mail from a weasel for no reason!
