1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). Online Mint Error Coin Sellers Are Ripping Off Coin Collectors!
This is a huge problem that we speak on here all the time, some of these sellers even post their coins here that they're trying to sell!

....... but, but, but, but, but,......... Daniel, stop making sense!
There's just one question I still haven't been able to figure out:
......if a seller is offering a item for sale, for say $1000, how in the world can they charge $20 shipping?

You never will get a real answer. Just like those over our northern border trying to justify 20 Dollars Shipping. They will say 20 dollars shipping from Canada. Sorry it doesn't
cost 20 dollars to ship from Canada to the U.S. or from the U.S. to Cananda. Ninety-nine % of the time you can ship back and forth with our Northern friends very close to what it costs between addresses in the US.

Weight is the factor, if it weighs over 15 ounces then it's expensive to ship to Canada. Shipping charge is the least of the worries here though.DSCoins wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 9:47 pm You never will get a real answer. While this is certainly true, most of us in the States are not aware that often a package, once it is across the border, can be opened and inspected by the Royal Mail...and they charge the recipient a fee for this! I used to ship a lt of glass insulators to canada (hobby), and a couple times the piece had arrived, with a fee for inspection, along with not being sufficiently re-packed and the insulator was broken. There was no holding the Royal Mail accountable for it either. There was no way to prove the item was not broken when they inspected it!You never will get a real answer. Several of my Canadian friends over the years have told me of this. Back in the 90s they could charge you 5.00 for it. I have no idea what the charge is now.
When I asked how they could do this, the answer was always, "b/c Canada is not the US."

Re: Online Mint Error Coin Sellers Are Ripping Off Coin Collectors!
Glad to see this here because I’ve seen a few coins on eBay with the poster using “rare” in the title but absolutely nothing in the description as to why it’s an “error” yet they are asking $3,000. I was wishing there was a way to post a comment the public can see asking them to show me where this so called “error” is.
Daniel’s videos on YouTube along with really studying Wexler’s on doubled died errors vs worthless ones, I now realize that all these coins I thought might help me retire more comfortably are worthless and I will still struggle in my retirement. Heheh oh well, sure thankful to have folks like John Wexler and Daniel and this community to help along this journey!

As someone who used to have a small business which involved shipping packages all over the US and sometimes to Canada, it's expensive. You may see only a few dollars on the postage, or figure so much for weight and cubic footage, but you have packaging materials, your time, fuel to get it to the post office or UPS store or pay what UPS charges you to pick it up, or your membership to Stamps.com, all of which are costs. I never made money on shipping, and many times I lost money because I figured wrong. It's a necessary evil.DSCoins wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 9:47 pm You never will get a real answer. This video should be "required viewing" before posting questions about a "mint error' you found!

Education is the reason these guys make money on-line.
If you use common sence and do some homework or a lot of homework,
all depends on how much knowledge you want to have.
Then these guys on-line will be tired of no one buying anything from them and leave.
I have been schooled by the crew here on what to do if you want to learn.
Now I hardly post. Only if I really have to.
Thanks Guys.
Johnny
