My uncle-in-law passed away at 94 years and in his life span ran a small country store and most recently a rural PO.
Starting in the 1950s with the store and thereafter collected and saved many, many coins. My guess estimation of silver value was in the $30,000 to $40,000 price range at the spot silver price of $23. As you may imagine most of the coins are circulated and in various grades of wear but the Morgan dollars are decently kept and many other special coins as well. The local dealers seem to want just buy it all in one transaction as spot silver but I feel that there are some valuable collectibles in amongst the barely circulated, not very worn coins. There are thousands of wheat pennies and some Barber coins as well as a few uncirculated bullion coins. I feel totally overwhelmed just trying to evaluate this collection.

Welcome. I recommend buying a 2023 Red Book and going through the coins if you're afraid you will sell a good coin.

Welcome to the community!
I agree with Daniel, a red book price guide would be a good start.
