1. Post a front and back image of your coin with a specific question about what you’re seeing or asking about and one coin per topic.
2. Please remove coin from the holder unless it’s US or an official mint case or unless it is graded by a grading service.
3. Images should be taken by a camera or cell phone camera, we ask that members don’t use images through a microscope screen.
4. Always start your own topic, please don’t ask about your coin or post your coin in someone else’s coin topic.
5. Do not send private messages about your coin unless an Admin ask you too and the same for sending emails through the board.
6. No spam. Do not post any links to your coin or other non-coin websites.
7. Always be respectful even if something makes you upset or you don’t agree with a member. You can always get a second opinion elsewhere. If you have an issue then politely ask an admin in an PM. PM’s are for issues, technical and personal, but not for coin questions (refer to number 5 on this list). Yes it is a double die! Nice find. Not sure which one it is. Your cent is in pretty bad shape, don't know how much of a premium it would have in the condition. Let others chime in.
You can go here to try to match up which one it is. http://www.varietyvista.com/01b%20LC%20 ... 201972.htm

Re: Is this a 1972 double die ?
Thank you gentlemen with your help I have narrowed it down to two different possibilities.
I am 43 years old and I have never been part of a forum before so I appreciate you guys.
I’m open to your opinions on the value maybe 100 bucks ?
I’m not really computer savvy I don’t have a Facebook a Twitter an eBay account nothing.

Let’s not make assumptions of the value in this matter, use Ebay sold listings for a realistic idea of what has been paid for examples of this variety in this condition.Cody Wright wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 5:10 pm I’m open to your opinions on the value maybe 100 bucks ?
I am confident that this coin is worth well below $100.

Re: 1972 Penny - Is this a double die ?
1. If you find an exact match at varietyvista.com, then you will be able to search online for a sold one of that DDO.
2. Just so you know...this is a doubled die penny (don't forget the d ). The die it was minted with had a doubled image on it.
3. I had to correct your title so it would be meaningful for the forum's search function.
Please take the link I put inside your first post so you know what the forum guidelines are and no corrections will be needed in the future. Thank you!
4. Anticipating you next question and giving an answer:
Yes, sending a coin in to get it slabbed will likely mean if it sold it would bring in more value science people tend to pay more for a slabbed coin. But the cost to get a coin slabbed is high enough that sending in this penny to be slabbed would probably leave you n the hole financially.
5. Nice find!
