Good Day,
I am a new account. I am a huge fan of CoinHelpU on YouTube and I decided to reach out for help on these forums. I have found a $10 Gold Liberty Head Eagle online and I am wondering if it is a counterfeit item. I was pretty interested in it until I searched the certificate number and it links to a 1906-D coin. This coin appears to have no mintmark. Also I couldn't see any examples of the 3-pointed circle of plastic that holds the coin in the slab for this generation of PCGS holders. These factors have lead to my hesitancy and request for guidance. Can anybody offer advice? Thanks!!!
All the Best!

Hello and welcome to the community! It could be a clerical error??
However, I would probably pass and look for another one if you don't feel safe making the purchase.

Welcome to the community.
This slab and the coin does appear to be counterfeit.
Good catch.

Re: Fake PCGS Slab (?) 1906 $10 Liberty Head Gold Eagle
Definitely a fake, the lettering, the color of the obverse of the paper. The reverse hologram doesn't look like a PCGS holder I have ever seen. Plus the coin is where it is at because if it were legit (the surfaces look reproduction) it would not be an MS 63 but rather an MS67 or MS69 because they are flawless. MS63 has quite a bit of bag marks but a lot of luster. I have an MS63 1900 $10 gold liberty and it looks MS62 on the obverse but the reverse looks MS64.
