2000 D Sacagawea possible DDO in LIBERTY

#1 Unread post by Jennypenny107 »

So I found this at work a few days ago. I did the photo of the obverse and reverse with the books and bottle cap. I noticed splitting in the lower left side of each serif in the word LIBERTY. Split serifs usually indicate DD's right, but 'Im still not too sure!! Help me please. Ive watched videos upon videos and I think Im right but am usually never correct. IDK I believe its a DDO. I'm sure I'm wrong but.....Thank you thank you thank you!

1. I agree with Paul on this one...reflect doubling. It's not present in the first pic you posted.

Until you are confident you know what a DD looks like, you will find dead ends like this b/c the devices can too easily fool you.

2. Also, some good info for when you think you find a DD, and or just for studying what they look like.

Here is a way to find immediate answers when finding something you suspect is a doubled die, RPM, or OMM:
Please click the following link:

Immediate Answers - How to find your Doubled Die or RPM online

Note:
If you do not find an EXACT match to your coin listed using this easy method, then you most likely have a damaged coin or other issues like (non collectable) machine doubling, die deterioration doubling, etc. (look these up at error-ref.com)

3. And as long as I am at it, here are some helps for understanding MD (which you WILL encounter) to save and use:

This is die deterioration and why it's so important to use CONECA variety vista to find a match and look at as many doubled die images as you can.

   Thank you all for your help  . Dang I thought for sure
I tried searching for the coin in question but there is no variety as of yet for the coin in question. I checked Variety Vista and no avail. The search continues. Pressed for time as usual off to work to maybe find something new. Thank all of you again for your time and the notes I will keep studying! Have a great Sunday!!
