First time posting on this side of the neighborhood.
I purchased this 1959 P penny inside a 2x2 cardboard slip with only 1959 P written on it from my local antique shop.
Coin has a mirror-like finish and looks very new.
2 part question:
- Is there a proper way to label these 2x2 cardboard slips?
- How do you determine the grade/amount of the coin without sending the coin for proper grading?
Any suggestion/recommendation on the book I should be using?
Thank you as always for your valuable time!!
All the best!
1959 P Penny

Re: 1959 P Penny
Hello. I have a question about this coin. My I ask how much you paid for this coin?
It looks Proof and I just want to accurately assess the value. I would buy a "Red Book" and look at "sold items" on Ebay. Thanks!

Agree with Sal, must have books when getting into coin collecting.
Nice find and hope you got a great deal on it, here is just one place selling that year Proof but you need to browse other sources to get a feel on market value.

Thank you SensibleSal66 & Dutch-Tigger for your time & insights!
Please see additional photos at different angle for your reference.
It was listed as $2.00 and the owner gave it to me for free because I bought few other non-coin related items from the store.
