1983 P Kennedy Half Dollar Silver with Extra Dates?

1983 P Kennedy Half Dollar..Solid Silver looking rims or is this gold with Extra Dates punched in obverse pushing through reverse.

1960 and 1980. What am I looking at?

Technically, Post Mint Damage. These are called counter stamped coins. Done after leaving the mint.
I've acquired a collection of over 20 of these from different states. here are several from my collection.

It's not silver either. These counterstamped kennedy halves were often plated to look gold or silver, but they're just normal business strike coins.

Yes it looks more like silver than gold to me but yes makes sense it is a normal 1983 composition other then added plating..had to find that under neath composition for this coin type as it isn't mentioned other than gold plated..so it's confusing to see the rims looking all silver..appreciate!

I was watching Daniel on YouTube yesterday..and this coin appeared..and he talked about it and my Nickel I posted..on the nickel he said it maybe a restrike..I dunno..but it was cool to see him going over all these things and explaining his thoughts and other experts thoughts on coins posted here with questions. You all are very nice to do this for us newbies..so thank you!

This it is an over stamp (punch) coins outside of the Mint. Just a fancy coin now. You do not catch clear the meaning of Daniel video. Look again.

Counterstamped half dollar commemorating the 20th anniversary of JFK taking office (1960-1980). Done privately and they show up every once in awhile. Another gimmicky type marketing ploy where people not knowing any better likely spent a lot more than the coin was worth thinking it would be worth something some day. Value of 50¢. I keep some just b/c I specialize in Kennedy Halves and found them roll searching. I also once found a gold plated one as well. Still only worth 50¢.

My first thought was it was some odd birth and death date thing..couldn't figure it out right away..I did just go through an entire box of 2023 D nickels and noticed some of them having a grease error..here..then there..then around the letters it even took out some of the letters..it was like watching a movie of progressive lly more grease hits ..then then..I found a blank..I didn't want to look at these because they were..all the same..but after a few finds of grease hits..it became like reading a book..got into it..tracking the next one..in all there were 7..2 of which devastated some letters.. the front of one says I God..which is a cool name for a collection of them..not sure if any value but they were different and new and clean and the blank was an actual blank this time verses some electrical plug..ha!
