Hey Folks,
Got the 1880P last night. Looks to be AU58 or MS60+ range. Very difficult to tell the differences between AU58 to say MS60. I've attached the obverse and reverse for your viewing. The rim is not damage as well. Love to hear you thoughts on what you think the grade might be.
Thanks
Tom

Re: 1880 P Morgan Dollar AU58 or higher?
I see some abrasions on the hair above the ear, the upper cap fold, the eyebrow, and the top of the eagle's legs. Otherwise, minimal contact marks overall and the cheek has normal chatter . Tilt it under a desklamp and see if there's unbroken cartwheel luster in all of those highspots.

Using a single desk lamp in my dark room I can see the cartwheel throughout the coin. Grading is an art from what I am learning. You folks real know your stuff and have seen a lot of these coin. I did buy a scale as well to ensure the coin comes in around 26.73 grams. I is a lot of fun and exciting! Thanks

The coin would make MS and I recommend buying already graded examples to compare and buy a Coin World Making The Grade Book.
