One dollar bills that have the same serial number
By copying and pasting the following web address into your search bar you can read an explanation about how there were 6.4 million pairs of star notes that were accidentally printed so each of those pairs have the same serial number.
https://www.mycurrencycollection.com/bl ... er-mistake
I have 2 2013 $1 notes that have the same serial numbers as theses duplicated star notes but mine don't have the star at the end of the serial number (B 09081173 F and B 03447905 A). Shouldn't those have been destroyed when they were replaced by the star notes?
If these should have been destroyed but weren't are they worth a lot of money because they should not longer exist?

Interesting story! Did you find yours in circulation?
When you have a URL that is long and troublesome, open a new window and go to tinyurl.com. Follow easy instructions. You also can add the Tinyurl tool to your browser tool bar. I use it all the time - fast and easy.

Re: One dollar bills that have the same serial number
Hi Earle,
Some currency I have been getting by paying cash at stores so I can get more currency and change to look at to find errors but I have also asked the bank for $100 in ones and also $100 in fives so I would have more to look at that way too. I told the teller I was looking for star notes and she went through her drawer and found a $5 bill star note for me.
I am not sure which way I found those 2 that have matching serial numbers with the pairs of star notes but I think they were in the ones that I got from the bank.

Re: One dollar bills that have the same serial number
I think there is a website that people can enter there
serial number from the note and match one in the data base
that some one else found. There going for $ right now and people
are splitting the money from the sale. Or buy the other bill.

Re: One dollar bills that have the same serial number
There is an ATM machine at one of the banks I have an account at primarily so I can get coins that dispense $5s. I think there is a limit of 150$ in 5 dollar bills, however. I do get money out in all 5s at times to look for Star notes.

Re: One dollar bills that have the same serial number
Hi Claude, I haven't heard of an ATM that will give out $5 worth of quarters except for at a car wash. I would like to find one of those in a bank that would be great.
I wish you all the best in finding $5 star notes and in all the collecting you do!
You could ask a friendly bank teller to save any Star Notes they find and to give you a call when ever one of the tellers finds a Star Note.

Is this one not supposed to make it to circulation. I think this 1 has 3 instead of two matching.

Re: One dollar bills that have the same serial number
Hi billiamburk76.
I think you and I each have dollar bills that are triplets since ours didn't get destroyed when the matching star notes got printed.
My question is: shouldn't these non-star-notes have been destroyed when the star-note bill got printed and how much would this mistake be worth to sell one of these bills that should not exist ???

Try this site if you would like to look up the SN for those 2013B star note(s).
https://project2013b.blogspot.com/
I checked my SN against their database with no results. I did submit the required info but have not received a response yet.
Very interesting topic. It seems the further I go the behinder I get.

Hi Driftwood. Thank-You for the web site. I didn't know about it.
Here is another one that looks very similar and is all about helping each other to match these star notes.

Re: One dollar bills that have the same serial number
Your welcome WISCONSIN DAN. I submitted my star note SN to zwproject. The gentlemen working on this project is no longer involved with it so I was given the above link to submit my star note.
On another note, I did find a B series 2013 without the star and the SN falls within the SN range designated. Hum... interesting to say the least.

Re: One dollar bills that have the same serial number
Hello WISCONSIN DAN, I ran the 2013B series SN B 08863337 D (Mine is FW) through the check my star note except, I omitted the D and used * and it recognized that SN as a star note. Just an FYI.
