Looking for someone knowledgeable in modern UK commemoratives

#1 Unread post by digispin »

I am looking for someone knowledgeable in modern UK commemoratives. For the recent Queen's 70th jubilee, the Royal Mint has put out a myriad of coins. I need some help in trying to locate a very specific 50p coin.

Please DM me or we can converse over this thread.

Still looking for help. It doesn't have to be Daniel, just someone who can help point me to web resources for modern UK commemoratives. Is there a well known collector that's active on message boards regarding Canadian coinage?

I am not familiar with UK coinage, but collected Canadian avidly until about Y2K.

As to UK coins - I know some people on coincommunity.com are familiar with UK coinage and there are UK members there (as well as Canadian).

Thank you, maybe you can connect me with someone. I will check out coincommunity.com. Is there a top-visited website for UK collectors? I am interested in a 50p Jubilee coin and just now, the 50p Pride coin (sold out before I could try to buy it from royalmint.com)

As I live in the U.K. and knows a decent amount about modern U.K. coinage. There is a couple of reference books out there for U.K. coinage, but most stop at 1970 (last year that pre decimal coins were minted in proof only).

There only ones I could find were these ones;

And this one on Amazon

Numista (I’m more active on there) is also a go to place to find information about 50ps and swap with members for the coin your looking for.
Worldwide collection “collecting and documenting finds since 2019”.

Facts about me;
  • I have visited 12 countries so far.
  • I have actively hunted for coins in 5 of those countries (UK, France, Belgium, Netherlands and UAE.
  • Avid cat person.
  • I have a sense of dry humour.
  • History/Geography nerd.
  • Pretty good Chess player.
